I spent a lot of time this long weekend reading the posts from my students on "getting to know you...". It makes a great difference to me when I know my students more than just their names, elementary or secondary eduction.
I have students who teach piano lessons, are baseball coaches, homemakers, retired policeman, military and more. Wow, the experiences they are bringing into education is phenomenal. I feel so fortunate to be working with them.
